Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups pumpkin puree (fresh or canned)
- ¾ cup sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground ginger
- ¼ tsp ground cloves
- 2 large eggs
- 1 ½ cups heavy cream
- 1 pre-made pie crust
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating the oven to 425°F (220°C). This high temperature will help set the crust early.
- Make the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, sugar, salt, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves. Beat in the eggs one at a time. Gradually add the heavy cream, mixing until the filling is smooth.
- Prepare the Pie: Pour the filling into the pre-made pie crust.
- Bake the Pie: Place the pie on the middle rack and bake for 15 minutes. Then, lower the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the filling is set and a knife inserted comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the pie to cool completely before serving. We recommend serving it with a dollop of whipped cream!
Expert Tip: For the best flavor, always use fresh pumpkin or make sure your canned pumpkin is 100% pure with no additives.
